In a recent opinion piece in the Christian Post, Imperiled Religious Liberty, Abroad and At Home, (click here to read) the writer bemoaned the state of religious liberty here in America.
Let me tell you about religious liberty, in the Sudan churches are torched and pastors murdered, in America if it rains Sunday mornings church attendance plummets. Every five minutes, somewhere, a Christian loses his life for his beliefs, in America you can get a thousand believers to a rally against gay marriage, but take your kids to Sunday School? I think not.
This great country doesn't have a religious liberty problem, we've got a religious apathy plague. Somehow, someway, our so called leaders decided it was more important to pour resources into getting conservatives elected than fanning out into our neighborhoods with the message of salvation. We've subcontracted our moral beliefs to politicians for enforcement and that's gotten us steadily declining numbers for two decades or more.
Arghhhhhhhhhhh!!! You want to preserve religious liberty in this country? Shut the hell up about how bad we've got it, get up out of the pews and tell someone about Jesus. See if that works better than your buddies in Congress, fat lot of good they've been......
